The facts about the 2026 Midlothian Bond Election.
A capital works plan developed by our citizens with no increase in our property tax rate.
A message from Mayor Justin Coffman:
“A time-honored responsibility of our City Council and everyone at City Hall is to listen to the people we serve. As Midlothian grows and plans for the future, that means hearing directly from residents about their priorities, concerns, and the issues they believe should be addressed.
That approach helped guide the development of the November 3rd bond referendum. A diverse citizens’ committee reviewed our city’s finances, the condition of roads, parks, and infrastructure, and set spending priorities. Residents from a broad cross-section of Midlothian also had the opportunity to provide input through a community-wide survey and by attending the committee’s public planning meetings.
The result is a bond package developed by Midlothian citizens focused on the projects they recommended – with no tax rate increase. Now, the final decision belongs to our voters this November. Over the coming weeks, we will provide additional facts so you can make an informed decision on Election Day.”
